And don't forget there is a few BWC's going over to KI, once they are completed. Using Old CFS Appliances.

As to what Sa Firey Said. To many CFS Stations even ones that have been upgraded in the last 10 - 15 years are still not up to specs with current Trucks etc etc. I find at many stations they have trouble being able to fit Trucks, PPE, Etc Etc Due to space restrictions and Half assed Contruction in the first place where Stations wern't built as long or as tall as they should have been.

I agree with Calspec. Some brigades are more needing of a Pumper Appliance where their Urban risk is just as great as their rural risk. Plus for you Barker Boys, wouldn't it be better for you to have a Truck that can do both Urban and Rural Firefighting to back up your 24, so you can protect assets and fire bushfires aswell with the one Truck, hell you may even get to go on Stike Teams having an Urban/Rural Firetruck

Also Happy Valley Pumper got it's first bit of publicity in Todays Advertiser. Pumper was used for the Photo about the Road Toll, quite a sad pic to look at but Pumper did get shown off, just a little bit

Some How I don't think the Barker Boys would like a 24p Over the Dennis, just seems a lil backwards if you ask me

Well Training is getting to the point where invidiual Groups are running Level 3, BBF 1 and Supress Wildlife Courses, Hell just last weekend I was helping up at Kangarilla Staton run a Level 3 Course when a BFF 1 course was being run down at SCTC, how does that make any sence?????

Country Fire Service / Re: CFS NEEDING MORE APPLIANCE'S
« on: October 31, 2006, 02:24:46 PM »
I don't know why they just don't use the old trucks as spares for other brigades to use, with the ammount of older appliances comming offline due to what ever reason, they could have some minor repairs done to them to make them worthy of spare usage for brigades to use especially with all the old pumpers going offline like Eden Hills, Belair and Happy Valley Pumper. I know Eden Hills Pumper is being turned into a BWC for KI but nothing has been done with it yet except for it to rust and the Old Happy Valley Pumper is still sitting out with Eden Hills Pumper I believe with a price tag on it, why not use it if it still works as a decent fire truck.

Happy Valley and Morphett Vale should both have pumpers...34P's are glorified rural trucks....

BRING IT ONNNNNNNN :-D

All EMA brigades should have RCR gear as well for when we have to do COQ to their stations :-D

Don't think they could justify the thousands of dollars in gear, thousands in training, and thousands in upkeep.. On the off chance and rare occasions that CFS does COQ to MFS stations..

Nice concept though.

It's not as rare as you think, Last Year I know Happy Valley did atleast 3 or 4 COQ's to MFS Station's, hell around this time last year The Old Happy Valley Pumper was sitting down at Adelaide Fire Station on COQ during the Flooding last year, Sitting proudly next to the MFS Trucks that where still stationed down there, One Last Dance with the Old Gal, then only 2 months later she was gone and is now sitting down in the Boneyard, collecting even more rust  :-(  Ohh well Maybe we will find some glory in 24P.... :-P

How about replacing all 24P's with either Type 2's or 34P for brigades that need both Rural and Urban Firefighting, unlike Happy Valley who yes our Pumper was taken and we had a 34 replacement, but because of where we are we don't always needs lots of water, we can tap into the mains and the Pump on the 24P is not sufficiant enought to pump heaps of water. Plus most 24P's that I know don't have Turbo and especially in Happy Valley, we have alot of hills to drive up, aka Education RD :x ,  And even tho we don't it would be quicker to take our 34 instead just for speed. Thats my point of view anyway, and also how did this thread get changed from Spare Appliances for CFS to what Trucks are accually needed within the CFS :-P

Well I'm not sure if ther rumors are true but I hear there is a brand new Type 2 Floating around at the moment that hasn't been assigned to a Bridage yet, I wish SHQ would make their minds up on good spare vechials that just float around not being used, as someone said Mawson Group has 2 34's offline at the moment, and one of the 34's down at McClaren Flat was replaced with a 14, a 14 for crying out loud, how can a 14 be a replacement for a 34, seriously, maybe Region 5 should loan Maswon Group there spare vehcial while we get our's fixed :-D
