SA Firefighter General / Ideas for the future of the SACFS
« on: February 16, 2009, 09:57:19 PM »
Just though I would start a thread for people to post any ideas the have that may be useful in the SACFS, without any argument or discussion. no matter how abstract they are, covering all areas of firefighting, from admin to equipment to training.

REMEMBER NO ARGUMENTS OR CRITICISM IN THIS THREAD. If you feel the need to, start a new one.

Just some rules.
1. Only one idea per post.
2. You MUST explain exactly what would be involved in carrying out your idea, or close to. (you cant just put up an abstract concept without having research or experiences to back it up.
3. You cant post directly under your own post.
4. If you really like an idea, start a new post about it.
5. If you really dislike an idea, start a new post about it.

Fire Fighter Training / RCR - Car Prep.
« on: October 13, 2008, 03:58:47 PM »
so what do you guys do to prepare your cut up vehicles for brigade level RCR training?

I am thinking of trying to get the place that supplies our cars to simulate a roll over, with entrapment due to compression of roof. by placing some dummies in car, then getting them to crush the car with their giant hydraulic press until the roof is almost level with the top of the doors.

It seems to me that MFS comms are still stuffing things up, talk about the closest and most appropriate rescource, that call should have been SEAFORD (fire/rapid interventiuon), Aldinga (rescue) Mc Vale (2nd Fire) and CD439 (2nd Rescue)!!

When will they get it right!

Country Fire Service / Joint CFS/SES stations
« on: May 24, 2007, 10:56:01 PM »
dont forget i think SAAS are on in it as well....

So  MFS/CFS/SES/SAAS in one big building...i reckon they could fit in a 3 x 2truck bay station...and probably on the Land that SAAS already occupy...

The land i was talking about being purchased is at seaford...??? sorry i went a bit off topic, but in my defence, i was defending my turf.

I would be more than happy for a CFS/SES station at seaford!! to tell you the truth i would probably join SES., it could work really well, or could go horribly bad.

SA Firefighter General / Arsonists
« on: January 12, 2007, 11:39:07 PM »
This thread is to voice your opinions/ let of steam about the punishment of arsonists...

I say give them the needle...

It may sound a bit extreme, but IMO arson is worse than murder... murder is calculated, Arson it is completely random who dies/looses everything... and how much is lost...
