State LOP, determined by Regional LOPS, wchich are in turn determined by Regional FDIs or operational activity...

On a different note I have noticed that some Group Officer / Brigades are encouraging active stand by or passive stand by.

Isn't the CFS on 'passive standby' 24/7?

Our area we go to active standby when local conditions get the FDI above 50.

looks like they are throwing everything at a grass fire @ bridgwater...are we going to say thats over resourcing i don think so......

Not necessarily over-resourcing [i wasn't there, so can't comment] but it certainly left a few holes.... ie both piccadilly & upper sturt appliances going? Why leave those stations empty for a fire over the hills and away? maybe the CFS need to do some move ups... ie a sturt group appliance to upper sturt & a summertown appliance to piccadilly... hmmmm ill try not to get ahead of myself.[just my opinion]

Yeh, your wrong!!!!!

Are you serious? There may be individual briagdes/members that acknowledge stop calls everytime without question. However, its not always the case. Some services ignore others, some groups ignore other groups, some brigades/units ignore there neighbours...

Maybe I live on another planet, but if we are stop called, crack a U bolt and head home.
In 25 years I could count on one hand the amount of times that a stop call has been overlooked, in incidents in my patch, with all services!

Than i guess your one of these then mate;
"There may be individual brigades/members that acknowledge stop calls everytime without question"

There not all like you mate ;)

address get put in?

Pip

Check my post just above yours Pip, wasn't a call at all.

Mmmmm what is more concerning, is that i live in Coro Valley and just received a letter from the CFS explaining this system, however im guessing we shouldnt have since it doesnt apply to this area... Could be a problem since the siren here activates for all incident types.

No relays Mr Teddy [although i know it was tongue in cheek], however they do get keys. [That is, if it had actually been the station alarm.... This was just appliance MDT/MCT testing...

An alarm at the station would only be three pumps and one aerial ;)

Can probably expect that to be even worse now that the Mitcham Hills community has campaigned for the sirens to be used for evacuations Darren. I can just imagine the siren noise from Upper Sturt or Coromandel Valley being heard in blackwood and causing mass hysteria.

Keep all appliances coming until the situation is under control, then stop for call. ;)

Not really that difficult is it.

Alex having been in brigades with the type 2 pumpers and older style cfs pumpers flaked hose is not a new thing. I remember having flaked 64mm on the old 32.

Thats what i thought mate, was wondering why it was being discussed as if it didn't exist in CFS at all...

664
Don't a few brigades already run flaked hoses? Eden? Happy? ie; 38mm attack and 64mm supply in the bins built into type 2s?

Wouldn't mind hearing some feedback from those brigades.

I was of the understanding that it is automatic 2 brigades to all domestic jobs? or is that just in my area?

Kind of scary having only 1 truck respond to a reported domestic, in its incipient stage! :?

***take note, this is only going from the pager site***

CFS SOP is two appliances [which usually means two brigades...] however the vollies in some areas without BOMs data get too make there own decision on ALERTS.

My personal preference would be two brigades, due to the nature of vollunteer organisations not being able to garauntee crews.

WFAM alarms have always had to be acknowledged. Alarms from your station; ie Barker Central [i think it is?] dont have to be, as we dont even know about them until you book mobile.

You got your 4 minutes [and a little more]... Dont really see what the problem is. Theres almost never a problem with Barker, usually phone in and all is sweet. Im guessing you guys were racing the clock to ack page when mobile, just didnt quite make it.

But don't blame us for your brigades slight mess up, i dont think anyone was having a go at you... We already cop enough rubbish.

Anyway, hope all is well mate.

We were mobile when the page went out :? (Barker), was a stuff up with MFS Comms when Hahndorf requested a Default.

No stuff up mate, i should know. Neither brigade booked in with comms, so both were  defaulted. That was before Barker 24p booked mobile on radio at 0911.
