Title: Medical Oxygen
Post by: car31 on May 21, 2013, 01:47:56 PM
Hey all, for those CFS brigades that have Medical Oxygen as part of their appliance stowage, where do you buy/rent the cylinders from. We have the kits but just need to obtain cylinders for them.

Depends where you are??

What town or suburb are you???

Or ask at the closest Ambo stn, which business supply them

I know in mt barker area there is E.H. Cambridge and Co. who are BOC supplier

we use Thomas Gas at Aldgate (any BOC agent should be able to supply them)

BOC and AirLiquid are the two main players

You won't be able to buy cylinders, only rent them - both companies have policies that they will only fill their own cylinders

BOC is slightly dearer (in my experience) but has a better range of outlets and delivers a better service (in my opinion)

Have these been recently aquired by the brigade? I heard a brigade not so long ago put in a request to carry them on an appliance but was flatly refused through region and the strategic leadership group within the CFS. Just wondering.

Our Group get our cylinders through BOC at Lonsdale.

At the recent SFEC update sessions we made sure all our 02 therapy kits in the Group were also now listed as prescribed equipment.

Thanks all, i have found a BOC supplier that has been really helpful. We have had the kits for 2 years but have never been able to stow them due to not having approval from region. We recently gained approval via our SFEC meeting so they will now be placed onto the appliance. Thanks all for your help
