what I think you're alluding to is that the busy urban brigades have different needs and pressures etc, which again I agree with. Hence my point that if 'uniden' (presumably as someone from one of those busy urban brigades)

Yeah she "promised" the UFU the only paid service would be MFS. Do you really beleive everything that comes out of pollies mouths do you? They only say what suits them at the time. If it were found to be cost effective to have CFS as paid fire fighters (talking 8-5, mon-fri, like down your way as opposed to 24/7) and it made her look good, watch the backflip then!

Well why do you stay then? You always seem to bag the service you represent.
and I am in the CFS have been for 15 years, we are embarassing. We have a commcen, use them, god this organisation is frustrating to be in, so many clowns.
Maybe we should be renamed Clown Fire Service..............
Just because the CFS budget got cut this year doesnt mean the government hasnt got any money.

No cause the government cant afford it and volunteers by definition do not get paid...What makes you think the government cant afford it?

I would say that because the time it will take to fix the problem's that in the long tearm its better to give those busy brigades a new appliance and send the old 34 that are only 5 years old to a brigade that does less than 20 call outs a year...I wouldnt consider at least 2 of the brigades mentioned "busy"?
I think pip has hit it on the head these appliances where found to have a few safety problems and this may be why they are being replaced and they will be fixed and sent out to a area that I guess does not get alot of call outs. Mind you our 34 has not been too bad but we have had problems like the rest with the pump and rust in the body there only 5 years old......Just interested about this, if they are'nt good enough for the brigades once fixed, why should someone else have to have it? Why cant they go back to the original brigades?
There will be a total of 3 x 34 from that barch replaced here in the south east,Naracoorte,penola and glencoe not sure what they will give us but a 34p would be nice so we can back up our pumper.Bill, why are they replacing them? They are'nt that old are they?

The point I'm trying to get across is that if you have multiple brigades going, you don't need to empty your station, just because you can.Maybe you dont need to deplete MFS area either?
Theres the other problem - does the red truck need to be going?...So at the most you should be getting 3 appliances to a rubbish fire, where is the fourth coming from??
Two trucks from Seaford, one from Morphett Vale & one from MFS.
They drove past me while I was parked on Commercial Road.
Theres your problem... Seafood don't need to be responding two trucks to a rubbish fire when they know that there is another 2 appliances coming.
