...why don't Adelaide fire send the page correctly and make it an assist SAAS job like it actually is...

I don't think 'Assist SAAS' exists as a response type in SACAD, so for these jobs they have a choice between either 'Assist resident' (which doesn't pick up a rescue resource) or 'Rescue General'.

Actually it does exist it is just never used, there are several to choose from.
- Assist Resident
- Assist SAAS
- Assist Other ESO
- Assist non-ESO/Other

Even if they did "Assist Resident" which doesnt pick rescue, it isnt very hard to change the appliance that goes... Additionally the information that was given was that a rescue litter was required, if that was the case then any appliance sitting in Adelaide Station 20 would have been acceptable particularly 201, 202, 203 or 204.

This needs to stop, why page the SES
MFS: *CFSRES INC0005 11/05/14 01:08 RESPOND RESCUE GENERAL, ALARM LEVEL: 1, : @PRINCE ALBERT HOTEL ADELAIDE 254 WRIGHT ST ADELAIDE,MAP:ADL 118 C14,TG C156 T186, :ADL204 : - MFS Adelaide Turnout
Then
MFS: *CFSRES INC0001 11/05/14 01:08 RESPOND RESCUE GENERAL P2 : @PRINCE ALBERT HOTEL ADELAIDE 254 WRIGHT ST ADELAIDE MAP:ADL 118 C14,CALLER: == STOKES LITTER REQ TO EXTRICATE PERSON FROM PSTAIRS :SNOTIFY C WAD20 R : - SES Western Adelaide Info
CREW STAND BY MFS CONDUCTING SIT REP - SES Western Adelaide Info
and more

MFS: WAD - STOP FOR INC 001 FROM MFS THANKS. - SES Western Adelaide Info

BECAUSE it was paged as a RESCUE which means we all get called for it. So rather than be a filtered and ignorantly  and say 'why page the SES' like a fool how about you say why don't Adelaide fire send the page correctly and make it an assist SAAS job like it actually is.

It's like saying why are MFS called to rescue when the only service with any right to rescue and the ultimate agency for rescue is SAPOL!!

CFS Page:
MFS: *CFSRES INC0024 25/08/13 09:20 RESPOND ROAD CRASH RESCUE, ALARM LEVEL: 1, WHITE CLIFFS RD BOOLEROO CENTRE,MAP:C/366 54,TG 071, ==CAR VS TREE, 7.7KM FROM BOOLEROO CENTRE TO THE EAST - FROM SAAS :BROO34 : - CFS Melrose Group Officers Response

SES Page:

Now this is a really stupid MFS Comms operator, either he made a stupid mistake or decided to play silly bugger with the SES.

Fortunately Booleroo's D/O was smart enough to confirm that the job was infact a P1 Road Crash Rescue.

Before you go calling someone stupid, and suggesting they were playing silly buggers with response, have you noted that SAAS have given the info and the comms operator does give the further info about it.

Yes I am aware that SAAS gave the info, that seems to have little to do with it considering CFS and SES got two different response types when the shouldn't have.

There may be further info in this page but it is still misleading thank you very much!

Angle Park TC is also the home of the South Australian Urban Search and Rescue Task Force which is made up from MFS/SES/SAAS with a couple of cops and a couple of doctors also.

Considering Christies, O'Halloran Hill and some other stations look like most of their fire fighters are in the 50+ age bracket, I would say that there will probably be a number of vacancies in the next year or two.

I'll be looking at an intake in 2015 anyway.

Hypotheticals / Re: Adelaide airport

Another major consideration should be that Adelaide is a fairly busy airport, there would be other planes about that may need to land that cannot reach another airport.

SAAS / Re: SAAS State Duty Manager
« on: June 14, 2013, 01:03:39 AM »
The current State Duty Manager is Andrew Aubrey (my cousin).

Yes he drives a desk, but he spends time where possible as a SPRINT Paramedic.

Currently the function of State Duty Manager works pretty much the same as an SES/CFS/MFS Duty Officer.
