You have got to be joking...
"allegedly" the AAIMS span of control concept was born of research that proved the limits of a single entity (note NOT a single person!!)
"allegedly" someone will apply this one day to something other than fire appliances, sectors, divisions and campaigns......something like, oh I dont know....Groups and Regions?
or we could just work with the people we like....works for some Groups
But Jaff is SACAD going to fix these problems??? I understand there is also a review of SOP'S in the way in which we respond to call outs and the number of appliances to each job....
Yeh its signed, sealed......but not delivered yet.
"The stern talk isa cummin"
The change in 'call receipt & dispatch' has now been delivered & announced to SES volunteers....changeover to different procedures estimated to be September.
What changes are in the final outcome? and how is it being received, by both vollie and staff?
Jaff, does that mean on the 20th May when you posted the above comment....you did not know !!!! surprise, surprise...

Yes definatly something that needed to be paged out straight away and couldnt wait for the next training night.......
,From what i have heard the Apollo pagers are here to stay, the current pagers have been deemed too expensive to get repaired and parts are becoming harder to find. so unfortunately if you send a pager back to be repaired, dont be surprised if you get an Apollo pager in its place.
It isn't a matter of don't be surprised, it's pretty much a given that your old broken pager will be replaced by a shiny new Apollo!
The probelm with the current pagers is the bulk of them have come to the end of their programmed lifespan (well, past their expected life span) and the spare parts very difficult to get..... in recent times the more damaged / unrepairable ones were being cannibalised to repair those that could be repaired...
That was before the Apollo's arrived....now you just get a replacement!!!
