Do most/all brigades have an Ops Support?
What do Ops Support do at most brigades?
What sort of support/assistance do they provide to your brigade?
Is it financial, physical, admin???
I would be interested to hear......

no we don't really. We do have members who specifically operate radios etc but that's as close to it as we have. There are some people on the books who i assume are there for this roll but have never seen theme be utilized. only at the Christmas dinner.

Our group has an ops/support brigade.
They man the comms centre for all but the most basic calls and handle logistics & support for incidents.

Naracoorte brigade mann the radios down here in our group and the groupies do there thing,The group does have a number of members from our rural brigade's who do IMT with in the group when needed... I guess this year they will get a run at jobs as the region only has two full time staff members...

Hmmm thats only one of many issues.

OP'S Support brigade's have their place and we should try and set one up in each group as they could do so many jobs from radio to catering and also be part of IMT I sometimes think that we and many other community groups see a member once they hit 50 or 60 is no longer any value to the service but we will always have room for them to help out.....

I'll stick to the radios/phones and the food can look after itself (unless I'm out there on the fire ground in a command vehicle and then it better be good LOL) Well on the food side, it involves making a phone call to bakery/fisho or wherever I can find it depending on the time of night but don't ask me to cut sandwiches

Hey Kat,with that new member in your brigade I guess IGA will be a good calling point at night.....You can cook the bacon and eggs and do the radio....

If I'm cooking bacon and eggs while doing the radio I'll be the one eating them too!! IGA always been good to us anyway - but will be expecting even better service now!!!!
