17:38:12   19-02-13   SEAF: THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR NOT TURNING UP TO HELP OUT WITH 34P THIS IS VERY POOR EFFORT FROM EVERYONE AS USUAL FROM KINGSTON STRIKE TEAM - CFS Seaford Info

Someone needs to stop this coming out of Seaford....Don't care how ya feel or if its accurate ya don't air it in public!! Very childish!!!

I was about to post this.
I agree, extremely childish. Whoever is doing it, should cease.
I personally am happy I never got to join Seaford seeing these recent messages, I can only imagine how the atmosphere must be down at Seaford.

I think it's time the pin was pulled on that brigade, which they should have done from word go, it's been a slow painful death to watch, and they really don't help themselves !!

Wasn't it due to their lack of getting trucks mobile and their "stop call" antics that station 46 was brought forward?

I've heard rumors that the end is near for them.

When said parent mentioned this to me, I asked the most Senior person at the station at that time if we should go check it out, yet he said we should wait for a page. There was nothing I could do. We also only had 3 members at station, and 5 cadets.
This instruction was furthered again when a LT arrived to be our 34 driver for Cadet Training.

On this, yesterday, we were about to start Cadet training, when one of the parents notified us of a crash that'd just happened up the road (were told car A crashed into car B at around 100km/h). So we decided to wait around just in case we were called to it, we heard SAAS turn up (If I'm correct around 4 Ambo's turned up).
Neither us, nor Aldinga (RCR) were called at all.

Country Fire Service / Info Page Guidelines

After some of the info pages I've seen from Brigades recently, I was wondering are there any official guidelines on what can be paged?
If not, why aren't there?

I saw that then.

But it appears the paging feed is either broken or frozen.

Adam internet has had some major outages at it's stirling and glenunga exchanges, so the person who is hosting the feed may be affected by this. Believe it is due to some issue with Adam's backhaul provider.

So that may be why feed 1 is down?

Feed 1 appears to be working, but not feed 2.

Are SES trained in HLO procedures like CFS have been?

Is watching a 15minute DVD really training?

It's a lot better than nothing... and can be made into quite an interesting training night.

Just more uneccessary over-resourcing. Either CFS do these type of calls or SES do them, not both (my opinion only).

We're meant to be doing it again sometime soon.

I agree. No need for overkill. Also I've seen in some places 2 CFS appliances paged, and SES paged for a tree down. And that's for a P2.

From what I hear they are.

When we did out HLO training, we watched the DVD and then went out for a practical on it. It stuck much better then just watching the DVD would.

19:51:38   14-02-13   Until further notice, Port Elliot Captain will be your duty officer for incidents. - CFS Port Elliot Info

What going on down at Mundoo. Where are all the duty officers gone?  I have heard along grape vine that someone has been scheiße stirring and people have left because of it. Not good. No wonder the service is losing people.

On that subject, this was sent yesterday after they had an RCR call (469 and 439 also sent) and it seems they didn't get a truck out.

I'm relatively new, I only joined CFS Feb last year, and I've been finding things that I merely don't know how to do, or how to do properly.

I personally think burn offs should be trained in an official capacity, maybe with the Suppress Wildfire, or even a separate course. I was taught how to do it by a member of my brigade, at a burn off we conducted, even though this was alright, I just think it should be done on a more professional level, and so that there's proof you're competent on what to do.

Fire Fighter Training / Building Impact Training?
« on: January 27, 2013, 10:34:32 AM »
A friend of mine (Who is a member at Noarlunga SES) and I were talking about the Firey's getting basic Building Impact training. Just so that we know what to actually look for, and so we can make educated decisions on whether to stop call SES on Building Impact calls or allow them to get there.

Our talking about this started from this, last night:

22:53:54 26-01-13 MFS: *CFSRES INC0012 26/01/13 22:53 RESPOND BUILDING IMPACT P1 26 HAMLEY CRES MANSFIELD PARK MAP:ADL 93 D15,CALLER: ==CAR THRU FENCE, THEN CARPORT, THEN HOUSE, MAJOR STRUCTURAL SUPORT DAMAGED :PPT20 V SNOTIFY C SNOTIF SDO : SES RO, SES Prospect Response

23:04:27 26-01-13 MFS: STOP FOR CALL NOT REQUIRED SES RO, SES Prospect Response

23:11:33 26-01-13 MFS: *CFSRES: PROSPECT SES ARE NOW REQUIRED TO ATTEND 26 HAMLEY CRES, MANSFIELD PARK. APOLIGIES FOR THE MESS AROUND SES RO, SES Prospect Response

This is just a personal idea of my friend and I, but it does seem like something that could be used somewhere for CFS/MFS.

That was found on the CFS paging filter, off the paging site.

Here's the actual page.
