I too got the '3 year' letter.
I must say it's really disappointing as I can hand on heart say that I walked out of that test happy that I answered truthfully from my perspective.
The letter you get versus the description on the website is appalling, if they label you 'high risk' etc they should attempt to give an indication why. Am I high risk of catching on fire? what are we high risk of please?
Having passed it all a few years back and be fitted for uniform to then not hear anything from them I am now done with the whole process and will look at other emergency service options.
If you do the numbers on what we all paid this time around they could EMPLOY someone to contact applicants and communicate a little better, it's allot but not unreasonable from a professional organization.
Well that's what I think. :)

Hi everyone, haven't posted in here for 6 years.
I haven't received an email either, this being my 6th attempt I'm beginning to believe I'm not the right person for this career. Super frustrating process for all those that want it so much.

Hi all
Haven't posted on here for a few years.
Just received the email, I was unsuccessful again.
It's really frustrating, I passed Pat2 a few years back and missed out on a position.
I am finding the personality profiling hard to pass these past few attempts.
Best of luck to those who are still waiting on an answer.
Cheers

Hey guys, I can confirm you get cab ranked from the interview process and they then take people off the rank one drill squad at a time. I was ranked about 67th last intake and recently passed the PAT2 late last year. Unfortunately I then missed out making the final drill squad by 1 position! Obviously only 18 people will make the first squad however it's not all bad news, just need to be ranked say in the top 50. Thats what I am aiming for. (thats if I pass the PAT1 hehe)

Having done the PAT2 late last year it does take up allot of time and resources only testing one applicant at a time. Interviews appeared to have three interviews running at the one time.

Couldnt see them running the Pat2 before the interview. Would be testing 100+ people

For my curosity, wouldn't it be easier to physically test alot of people than interview them ?
Interviewing a 100+ people would take alot of time & effort....

The current drill squad should be due to graduate any time soon yeah?

Sorry citizen, bad luck there is always another time, how many times you applied? also Gasman how many time u applied? also citizen did u do the PAT2 and get all your uniforms measured up?

Howdy, this was my third time but honestly the first where I had everything in order (HR licence, paperwork etc).
Yeah I passed the PAT2 in June and had the uniform fitting and medicals. Kind of got my hopes up when they measured me up thinking that I must be close for that to happen!
Not to worry I just need to nail the interview next time and not be so far down the cab rank.

Hey guys.
I've been following this dicussion for a while and thought I should join the site and contribute.
Do you think the people who passed the pat2 recently will still be called up even if a course isn't close on the horizon? It would be disappointing to tick all the boxes only to have to start from scratch again.
Just wondering as I was one of them..
Cheers

Congratulations Mr Citizen, hope you enjoy the best job in the world.  C U on shift.  YA GUNNA LUV IT!!

WOW I'm sitting here saying to myself 'am i reading this?' I'll keep checking the letterbox :)
If this does happen.... Dreams can come true!
