Title: Angle Park
Post by: Firefrog on September 09, 2008, 07:59:07 PM
Just wondering what capabilities the Angle Park training area has?

Is there any live fire training? What exactly is there at present?

Cheers

live fire training cannot be done at Angle Park. Hence why MFS recruits and firies go to Brukunga to do Gas prop, flammable liquids etc. This cannot be done at Angle Park due to it being in the middle of surburbia.

There is a tower there for ladder work etc as well as some sheds, hydrants, booster etc. There is a house there that can be used for some training as well.

Angle Park can do everything except live fire training.

The facility is part of the ETSA Training Centre and is sub leased to SAMFS and has full classroom facilities, and has a permanent USAR site, which there are exercises done regularly at.

A recycled water ring main with a main pump has been established for drilling purposes.
The current drill squad are going through their paces doing hose drills, chainsaw and RCR exercises, appliance familiaristaion.

Angle Park TC is also the home of the South Australian Urban Search and Rescue Task Force which is made up from MFS/SES/SAAS with a couple of cops and a couple of doctors also.
