The thing is the brigade does have the money which we have fundraised specifically to make life easier for ourselves!!

What we want to do with our money is none of the business of the people on this forum, what i originally asked is are there any brigades out there who have this stuff, not give me a lecture as to whether or not you think we deserve luxuries!!

I'm not sure what set up TTG use, whether they have spare masks or not. I would assume so.

Numbers, sure servicing your BA mask when you get home from a job is fine but we are volunteers and anything that makes our lives easier is always appreciated. If have a drying cabinet and spare masks means getting back to bed 15 mins earlier at 3 in the morning then perhaps it is worth it...

In our brigade we have considered getting a larger unit to do PPE in as well, we're just considering all possibilities...

Do any of the members of this forum use drying cabinets for their BA masks in their stations? I know there are a couple around, e.g. TTG.
If you do have one, any chamce of photos and other details. TTG made theirs, has anyone bought one off the shelf?
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!!

^^^ LOL

In all seriousness though, orange oil (or most citrus oils) will do the trick on glues like that, and leave a nice smell to boot! (until summr and it gets a nice layer of ash over the top!)

not necessarily. there are quite regularly guests [other services, inter staters, etc] staying at the STC accom blocks. its not always just for training purposes.

thats why i said

...sunday nights but wasnt sure of other agencies etc.

i was aware other agencies and organisations occasionally book STC for purposes other than fire training but wasnt sure whether they would be in on a sunday night, thinking they wouldnt come in until monday morning...

my mistake...

I think CFS have been hassled several times at least about looking at lvl 1 shirts, but nothing ever seems to happen.

*shakes head* shame...

Apologies if this sounds ignorant, but is there any way CFS could issue a cotton long-sleeved drill shirt (similar to MFS) to be worn with PBI.
I have experienced the extremely uncomfortable (not to mention borderline dangerous) situation where we were responded from a large structure job to an RCR. By the time we had the car stabilised i needed to scull the first bottle of water (i know that not the proper way to rehydrate but its all i had time for).
By the time we had the doors open i had little choice to remove my PBI jacket and scull a second bottle...
I understand this left me in a vulnerable situation with no PPE protection on my upper body but i had little choice. All we did from this point was remove the casualty from the vehicle however i would have been far more comrotable with a long sleeved cotton shirt. I had a brigade "fire and rescue" t-shirt on so i didnt look out of "uniform" to the public.
As i said before i would be a lot more comfortable in a long sleeved work shirt.
FYI the day was around 28-30 degrees around late morning so the sun wasnt that hot yet.
Thoughts?
