An article in the local Messenger press caught my eye last week. If you live in the Onkaparinga Council area, they have extended the nomination closing date for both 'Australia Day 2008 citizen awards'.

This shocked me because many CFS brigades and other emergency services exist in the Onkaparinga Council area, but no one has nominated !!!!!!
Given the recent awards given at a ceremony last week to CFS members at Mt Bold Fires, I am surprised that Onkaparinga COuncil do not have the nominations.
Do the other councils in SA have awards for Australia Day and has someone been nominated ? Something to think about..
