Oh well, at least SES got a little noticed and people knew we are not the same organisation.

Unlike SAAS and St John. It was last century that St John gave up the trucks and SAAS started but people still think we are the same.

or being refused ppe when it is damaged  :x

How about when groups refuse to supply new equipment too. Then there is times when at training courses the participants are told certain equipment should be on the their truck and when its not they are told they are not getting the equipment because they don't'need it'

filtered a lot more 34P's than 34's should be built then lol....more BA sets the Better in my eyes.

You know that some brigades have more sets than operators, and there are a WHOLE bunch that only have as many operators as sets...

Even Kalangadoo has more BA operators than BA sets. 6 operators and only 2 sets. That second unit for Kalangadoo might be required after all. Maybe even splitting the brigade so there will be Kalangadoo Alpha and Bravo Brigades LMGDFAO :-D

Actually I do beleive we have more BA operators than Glencoe Ringer so maybe your sets could be put on KDOO34.  Junior could be captain of Kalangadoo Bravo Brigade and they could be allocated evacuation duties of the town. lol

That would be me, and I will pass this on to some other former members as well

Nice to see the SE isn't the only area in SA with a strong connection between St John and CFS with members wearing both hats

Disregard that Firetower 1, it's just exhaust smoke from K'Doo 34 going up a hill with a crew of 2 and half! :-D

The "new" truck isn't that bad.

So does anyone here actually have summer seasonal jobs (either up a fire tower or on other paid (Oh I do like that word) jobs relating to fire fighting?

Kdoo may only be a small brigade but we have three members who are with Auspine tree farms. Glencoe has had at least 2 members with Auspine and another 2 members where up fire towers last year.

UPDATE: I have got a nomination form off of my brigade captain and filled out the personal details/course name and will be handing it to the Group Training Officer so he can look for a plantation fire fighting course for me to undertake
Robert How come I'm getting phone calls from stan because he is severely pissed that certain brigade members are not following the correct procedure and going thru their Brigade Training Officers. Stan is a busy man and does not appreciate having you calling him annoying him when you are supposed to go to your BTO. I am at training every wednesday night and if you actually turned up you would find it easy to get a nomination form from me.  Also your Chainsaw certificate fax was unreadable and stan would like you to give me a decent readable copy of it so i can pass it on to him next time I see him at a course.
