Best bet would be to refer the problem to your group officer.  If they wont do anything then go over their head.

I think the last thing we want to do is ask the CFS to start cutting costs with anything to do with capital works, they do that enough with the current appliances being produced.  That will just end in trouble and an even bigger maintenance list.

The more appropriate thing would be to lobby the government for more funding for capital works.

If its not viable then its not viable.  No one is saying the vollies are useless and would be more than welcome in the SA fire & rescue service.  If they wanna have sour grapes and join thats their problem.

I think if SAFECOM does what it was setup to do the writing is on the wall for the SES.  There is nothing the SES does that the Fire & Rescue service could not do!

How does this qualify as an interesting pager message? Is it interesting because Kalangadoo actually had a call out? or that they had no crew?

The material may be made in China, but as I understand it, the cutting / sewing together stuff is done here...

I wonder if the MFS has similar delays..?

Pip

Im getting absent minded in my old age but i think the last time i looked it my pbi had a made in china tag or something...will look next time im there.

Are you implying the MFS have things better then CFS? That they dont have to wait as long?  Surely Not.  The 2 Fire Services in SA are very much equal.

I have a better solution

How about we disband the SES and stop wasting tax payers money on another emergency service that just seems to be a duplication of other services!

There is nothing the SES do that the CFS/MFS cant do.

Bring on the South Australian Fire & Rescue Service!

Then there would be no arguements on whose job is who!

One would hope the trailer was upwind and well away from the incident anyway.

For a brigade that does like 200 odd calls that is a pretty cruddy lookin station.

Country Fire Service / Re: End of the Competitions??

I think the biggest issue is travel, which is why alot of brigades dont bother.

Maybe a better system would be comps at a regional level and the winner of each region compete in adelaide for the title of the number 1 brigade in the state.

Maybe some more modern events?

You put your finger over the end of a 64mm, 50mm and 38mm hose line and tell me the difference. While your at it take a photo and post it to SAFF.

Your finger may not do much but what about sticking a nozzle on the end of the hose and tell me what that does to the pressure brainiac!

naracoorte, nangwarry, millicent and mount gambier are the only staff saas in the southeast, they are looking at opening a new saas staff station in the region due to the volunteers not getting out the door.90% of the time naracoorte will go to penola/lucindale and kingston but of late they have been going north to back up keith/bordertown...

I have family in SAAS down that way and im pretty sure they told me Nangwarry was volunteer
