I can’t answer this one. Call HR and ask. There were a number of people unable to complete the PAT1 the first time round due to illness who were invited to run this time. It could be that their scores were higher.

Complete it or attempt it?

Maybe no one from first lot has missed out?

Has anyone from the second lot of beep testing received an invite for an interview?

I know of a few who have.

How can people in first lot beep tested not receive interviews when some from the latest lot beep tested have? They are ranked lower from personality profiling than the first lot.

I'd guess they finish this week and back early/mid January. No rush with first squad selected already

They are doing the driving history check earlier now to avoid issues down the track

Maybe they just want a larger pool so they can be more selective. The current drill squad had a couple not make it to the end so they may want to widen the gene pool a bit. Unless there is a rush of retirements there would be no need to run two squads at once. I don't think they can anyway now doing 24 per squad

Guys that got your PAT1 invitation what is the first letter of your last name?

"H"

Maybe they've realised with 3 not graduating from latest squad that a heavy reliance on the psych to select people isn't the best option.... So are going to interview more this time

I haven't personally had any dealings with Fire Recruitment Australia but I have heard from a couple of serving fire-fighters that the guy is a bit of a clown, so I wouldn't give to much credence to anything he says.

He is a boof head. Trying to make some cash out of applicants desperation. He is never accurate with when applications will open. He probably saw a few comment on here about mid year.

Hey Zoomer,

I reckon what they will do is interview the remaining pool and mix them in with the guys already interviewed and pull the second and possibly third squad from that. Just my opinion.......

I've heard they will reopen applications in about June for people that didn't apply this time and they will be mixed in with current ranking.

I'm one of the group whose run the PAT1 testing but hasn't heard an news about an interview, waiting to hear either way. Having multiple intakes from one big recruitment does make it a bit confusing ill be honest.

Good luck to everyone whose having an interview. Look sharp.

In the past they have interviewed in batches for each squad so it may be similar this time. Eg interview 50 and take top 24 for squad 1 then interview 50 for next squad and mix them in with the remaining from first batch based on interview scores.

Fact 1: last recruitment campaign, a potential recruit failed the Pat 2 by way of dropping the dummy in the casualty rescue task.

Fact 2: That same recruit was given another chance to contest the Pat 2 after their Station Officer father got involved.

Fact 3: That individual passed the second attempt and is now a serving firefighter!!!

But “We don’t assist anyone during their Pat 2” Bull...t

Ask your source all the facts....

In the past they have only interviewed enough for 1 or 2 squads at a time.

Hiya all, I too have been knocked out of the running from my psych test. I have read on here that the maths and English is pass/fail and that they rank you in order of merit from your personality profiling! How is it possible to rank candidates from their personalities????? Also heard on the grape vine that publicly they are saying there is no gender quota but in reality they are “gender selective”.

The MFS hasnt tried to hide the fact that they want to improve diversity. They have openly promoted it . But no standards have been lowered and no one is given help during the pat2. Fact. When close to 2000 sit the testing and only 120 progress at this stage there is sure to be disappointed applicants and conspiracy theories.

. I take this to mean that everyone who was identified as "suitable" from the profile testing would get a chance to progress to the next stage (PAT 1 and interview) as requirements for more drill squads dictate i.e. it is only a matter of time

Wishful thinking. They could potentially get enough for 6 squads from the 150-200 they have invited to the beep. From this forum and some mates who got the stay fit letters I'm guessing there's a few hundred on the suitable list.

Hey guys, I got a 'keep fit' response too, would be keen to know if there were different types of letters sent out!

Does anyone know if you can re-apply and try for a better result instead of keeping your results from the last test?

So you can improve your personality?? If everyone was suitable to be a firefighter they wouldn't bother with the testing. If your profile changed too much from a previous test it will alert the MFS and you won't progress.
There must be hundreds with the keep fit letters

As far as I am aware NT have either a pass or fail and all who pass move to the next round whereas SA have a pass or fail but also rank and only take the top 150 who pass

But they may take more later for future squads. They took 6 squads out of last batch. Plenty will fail beep and interview so I'd say there will be another call for beep tests next year.
Keep in mind there is allso a massive push for diversity...

They will take everyone who is deemed suitable through to the pat1, will be a lot more than 200. They will then select those who to interview based on the results of personality and abilities. Well this is what happened last time I think

In the past it has taken a few weeks. Do yourself a favour, don't try to guess when things will happen. You'll go crazy!!

Yeah found it quite draining also , just don’t understand how they seperate thousands of applicants by the personality testing seems fairly straight forward unless you strongly agree that asians run the country or say you have experimented with drugs before. haha oh well now the nervous wait good luck to all

Having experimented with drugs won't cause you to not progress. There is questions in there that are alerts so  if you say no to too many of them it flags that you may be manipulating your answers because you appear to never have made a mistake or experimented.

What kinda questions they ask in the abilities test? I heard he same thing a mate sat his yesterday and was saying identical to sapol test and really basic questions

I think most emergency services use a company called safe select for the profiling.

Yea I have mine this Friday as well, good luck. Did they let you know what you had troubles on? Im wondering how much of the actual test is based on maths and english compared to personality/psych, what was it like last time?

80% personality. No results given from psych testing. I think I remember signing something saying results remain property of MFS or the psych provider.
