Your looking at $207,000 for that type of volvo and thats excluding GST & on roads. So you add in the cost for the rear build, and all the other bit n peices you would be looking at roughly $500,000.

Its looks like a well laid out truck.

I'm with you there RH will at work ive got no choice but with CFS i do, my PBI during winter gets a run to every job due to the fact we have a 0 rural risk, but summer is a completely different story, its a case of if i really have to due to the 45+ degree days up here.

I wasn't pointing the finger at anyone chook i was simply stating a fact, i have had the enjoyment of 200+km drives plenty of times to Glendambo due to defaults and for back up (same as the R.D SES and SAAS have), and HR i also thought it was a touch weired the C.Pedy wasn't dual responded initially (i was just going of the pager info)but hey its not hard to lose track of where you are on that highway for someone who is calling it in..

Your right RH no argument there, but they have a very bad habit of defaulting, they had a roll over 100km past Glendambo today & defaulted and to make things worse so did Glendambo. Having a prang on this highway would be painful wait for the occupants.

I believe Stirling would already have this at the job with there pumper?

You believe correct! Although apparently you can't use it unless you have done a course the CFS no longer offers - because you need a course to understand what the alarm and flashing red lights mean! ;)

Are you talking about Monitor Hazardous Atmosphere course cause theres one in July - Aug sometime. If your just looking to detect something i agree you shouldnt have to do the course, but if your using it in confined space sense you need to be able to intepret what the detector is reading.

Yes but the majority of the high risks in roxby are covered by private fire service so really that brigade only covers the town and backs up the mine crews?

Jasec might be able to prove me wrong however :-)

Yeah there are a few huge risks on site but there protected with that much detection / suppression gear its not funny. We dont have anything out of the ordinary (risk wise) in the township its self not compared to what Nuri has lying around there area and we have work to back up the CFS if needed.

If the CFS got smart and took a good look at most road crash rescues performed, then they might see that there is nothing wrong with giving certain brigades Rapid Intervention gear, or doubling up at a rescue brigade. This helps with both the "Just in case" times with multiple calls, as well as when you need that one extra ram at a rescue.

Now if only the designation between Heavy and Light Rescue had been kept...
Totally agree with you there numbers, alot of damage can be done with a set of RI gear.

I managed to do the same thing long ago, but the 14 had a vertical tank on it, thats the reason she went over due to it being top heavy, but it didnt have half the damage Anesty had. Mmmmmm wonder if it was the same track.
