Title: Brigade websites
Post by: CFS_Firey on July 28, 2006, 02:43:59 PM
I've noticed a lot of brigade websites are pretty average when it comes to web design...
Obviously people who want to set up a website should get one of firefrogs deals, ;) but could people benefit from a place were people can discuss brigade websites, collaborate on ideas (like shared content), or get questions answered?

Still Being Developed

Aldinga Beach CFS (http://cybercitizen.egn.com.au/aldbchcfs/)

Just Playing With Some Ideas, Not Sure How I Am Going To Go With It Yet.  Not Sure About The Call out Register, To Much Work To Maintain With All The Job's That We Get.

And Gheez Fire Truck I Think Your A Bit Friendly On The Enter Key There.

and if you want a good URL for your website instead of something like "http://cybercitizen.egn.com.au/aldbchcfs/" then see here: http://www.sacfs.org/

Anyone else had a look at the Broughton fire service webpage, the link is on the home page of the promotions unit. Thats not a bad page, they cary a serious amount of equipment on their appliances. And have got some serious support tenders available to them.

We (Port Elliot) have a web page. We try to use it to give current info about activities, incidents.

Probably time to look at upgrading the web layout. Love looking at other CFS web pages...Some have good ideas for layouts etc

The idea was posted a while ago now but I can't find websites as a forum topic?

Everyone should of course check out Belair CFS's website, designed by yours truly LOL  :-P (be nice with feedback...!), unfortunately it hasn't been updated since I left the brigade.

The thing about websites and design in general is preferences are personal and if you like flashing things and music playing and gaudy yellow and blue banners scrolling across the screen then...um, well...each to their own I guess  As long as it is user friendly.

I noticed that the recent television adverts for 'Bush Fire Action Planning & CFS' were advertising a new website address of http://www.cfs.sa.gov.au

It's the same website...I am just guessing that the State Government is putting it's foot down, in relation to its branding, and hence wants the "sa.gov.au" tag on anything it pays for....

That will be location of the new website when it is launched, the old address will then be slowly phased out and eventually closed.
