Yeah Pics Storm1 2 4 7 are minutes before it hit, the dust came with the storm front, thankgod we had heaps of rain come with it to settle the dust down straight away. Add them when you get them be good to see.
Meant to be another front coming in the next couple hours..
Yep third day in a row of thunderstorms, dont think it will be a full on as Wednesday night.
Dont know what this wet stuff is that is falling from the sky here in Naracoorte but it sounds nice on my tin roof.............
In the same boat as you we dont get it very often at all. Its a nice change though, but the only bad thing has been the humidity over the last couple of days, Thursday morning round 2-3am we had a RH of 98% not nice at all.

Just a few pics of a storm that hit OD last night, first round was the 80Kmh+ winds and 30-40mm of rain then later that night a awesome thunderstorm.

Thats why they are there, they are critical to stopping / slowing a fire before it gets uncontrolable, maybe some people should have a read of the wangary fires inquest it might change there tune.

The good old salvos did a great job, dinner feeds were great, plenty of cereal and fruit for brekky, they seemed to be very unstaffed aswell. Good stuff.

It had its pros and cons being funded by the council, its was easier to get things purchased via council if it fell outside budget limitations, but like some one has said already it also meant for some brigades that if they where in a council area with lower incomes and rates it meant the funds were not there, where as councils like Burnside & Mitcham where well off due to the higher incomes of the area and had the ability to share the wealth so to speak.
Id have to say I'm undecided to which would be the best funding option.
