well, its been a very hard day for stirling, with stirling rescue, tanker and pumper spending more time out of the shed than in it.

No fog / rain, but I reckon more likely to be attributed to it being a nice day, after many cold days / miserable weather, and people are too busy looking around and enjoying the weather, than watching where they are going....

I think members of the general public would be very surprised if they actually knew how many calls some brigades attend...
Maybe they should put a new MFS station in Stirling, not Mt Barker :P

We have had days like that, and so have most brigades, as we all know there is no pattern to callouts.

If they put a CFS station in Crafers that was rescue, and let Stirling keep Hazmat, that should lighten their load quite a bit.

i think stirling cope quite well.... there is no real need for another station, besides it would have to be the locals from stirling crewing it...

You do realise just how ridiculous that suggestion is don't you? As in the drive from Stirling to crafers is less than a minute. Not to mention that our crew lives in Aldgate/Stirling/Crafers anyway...
We'd still be crewing the truck.

Its ok mate, relax... we all know how much busier than the rest of us you guys are up there. No need to feel insecure about doing less jobs than Stirling last year. :roll:

They probably have some members that live in Crafers anyway. Wouldnt make freeway access any quicker though.

The residents of Crafers already support two CFS bigades. Upper Sturt and Stiling, although moreso Stirling. Next time you are drving down from Littlehampton, take the Stirling exit, then go back onto the freeway and drive to Crafers.
Plus, we like our load :D
(And I'm a fan of Barker, the way they structure things at their station would do a whole lot of good in the CFS if others took notice of it. Don't take my reaction to their baiting as me not liking them :P)

I've done that a couple of times, and instead of them supporting people why dont they support themselves, as it is a largish town.

Trust me, its really not. Its not as large as Littlehampton area wise, and is covered by Stirling/Aldgate/Piccadilly/Upper Sturt. There is zero need for a station in Crafers. It would be building a station for the sake of building a station. Not to mention that its a quicker drive from half way up Mt. Lofty (eg: out the other side of Crafers) than from where myself, and some of our other day crew live.

With all due respect Manuel, there's simply no need for a waste of the emergency services levy like throwing another station in Crafers. Lofty group have ample resources, and to be honest as it is 441 could probably be up there faster than you could crew an appliance...
Several brigades do over 300 calls a year, it doesn't call for subdivision of an area unless there are severe issues with the handling of incidents, major thoroughfare or a significant commercial value.

Almost the case, but they dont quite get up the hill that fast. But yes, youve already got atleast 2 brigades (Aldgate/Stirling with RCR capabilities responding to any job on the Stirling end of the freeway, and three brigades (MFS/Stirling and Burnside) with RCR capabilities turning out to anything down the other end.

Do you mean the Renmark MFS / SES station. Thats where the money came from.

There is only one fire station in Renmark ;)

Yep thats right it was paid by MFS and SES they also put a CFS office in there but they do not use it as its a MFS town. CFS Group office is in Berri. But Renmarks station got state and Federal money put in, pitty we dont have that much pulling power. :-D
