Have lost track of where 2018/19 recruit process is at. How many drill squads were run from the original 2018 applicants and how many since mixing in the 2019 applicants?

Also only able to access this site when on wifi.
Having similar issues, often getting an error message when accessing this site.

Anyone from the 2018 "keep fit" pool that didn't get an unlikely to progress email?

Seems a bit rough that these applicants were mixed in and directly compared against the 2019 applicants who undertook different testing under different conditions...

Anyone from the 2018 "keep fit" pool that didn't get an "unlikely to be invited to PAT 1" email today?

Believe they culled a few more from the "keep fit" pool 2-3 weeks ago.

Completed the Profile/Personality testing, waiting in the "keep fit" pool to be called for PAT 1.

For those left on the “keep fit” list, has anyone contacted HR to try and get any information from them as to what’s going on with the applications, especially since it looks they are recruiting again soon?

No - just playing the waiting game. Be good to know how many others are still in the "keep fit" pool.

Many from the keep fit pool have received better luck next time letters so your assumption is incorrect. Unfortunately it would be too costly and time consuming to interview 4-500 or more applicants.

I was talking about those left after the recent cull of the "keep fit" pool.

It appears the “keep fit” pool has been slashed by half or by two-thirds.

Half or two-thirds of how many though?

They said at the recruitment seminar that unlike previous intakes, if you make it to a particular stage of the process, you won't just be left hanging indefinitely and then told at the end bad luck, try again next time. Rather you will be given an opportunity to progress to the next stage. So in my opinion, being in the "keep fit" pool means you fit the required profile and therefore have made it to Stage 1 of the process. I am working on the assumption that this means you will be called (at some stage) to progress to PAT 1 and then to interview. This would make sense as it requires a significant amount of time, effort and money every time they start a new recruitment process from scratch. Why would you start all over again when you've still got people who fit the profile that haven't been interviewed yet (yes, I know they have done this in previous intakes).

PAT 1 stops at 9.6.

Assume these upcoming interviews are for the 3rd Squad?

Anybody got an idea how many are left in the "Keep Fit" pool?

Congrats to the first squad. Second squad must be starting soon. Has anyone been notified for the 3rd or are they going to start PAT1's again? Any rumours? How many are in the keep fit still?

Apparently the recent cull of the "keep fit" pool was quite significant, but not sure how many people before or still left after the cull?

Is there a 2nd squad scheduled to start after the completion of the 1st squad, which should be finishing in early May?

I got a letter saying my application is not progressing today too. At the very least I can stop putting alternatives on hold now!

Are you allowed to reapply when (if) they reopen applications mid this year as previously advised they would?

So, in summary, 200 invited to PAT 1, 60 to interview and 25 to PAT 2. Unknown number in "keep fit" (PPA Pool)?

Anyone got an idea what these numbers look like now? I know some more interviews happening this week.

Not surprised that quite a few didn't pass the interview - got to expect that when you base the invitation purely on profile/psychometric testing.

Any idea how many extra were invited to PAT1?

I thought it was more around 130 invited to PAT1? And they are doing squads of 24

Okay, even better for those in the "keep fit" pool. Anyone able to confirm how many went through PAT 1?

Has squad size been increased as was hinted at during the recruitment seminar?

Anybody have an indication how many people are in which pools? Also, based on discussions in this thread, sounds like there have only been 3 versions of letters received  - 1) PAT 1 invite (top 200 people). 2) Not needed at this stage, stay fit. 3) Unsuccessful with the profile and aptitude testing, try again next time. Anyone know of any other versions?

Last recruitment, there were a couple different "stay fit" letter versions following the PAT 1 (which everyone who passed the profile testing was invited to). One said not needed at this time, you are on a list for future interviewing, stay fit. Anoter version just said stay fit.

Having said all of this, it sounds like they have changed the recruitment philosophy from previous campaigns. How I understood the recruitment seminar was that the list of suitable candidates would be exhausted before the recruitment campaign would be concluded. I take this to mean that everyone who was identified as "suitable" from the profile testing would get a chance to progress to the next stage (PAT 1 and interview) as requirements for more drill squads dictate i.e. it is only a matter of time.

This philosophy makes sense, it costs a lot of money and consumes a lot of MFS time and effort each time they go through the whole recruitment campaign process.

Sounds like Mt Barker MFS (retained service) should be in place by the end of this year.

Also hearing that Mt Barker CFS will continue to exist after MFS is in place, in one form or another. Initial rumours were that Mt Barker CFS would cease to exist once MFS was in place.

Not sure how many current CFS members will transition across to MFS???

Any updates on current recruitment? 4th squad in progress, sounds like 5th squad to follow starting in May. Will there be a 6th squad from current recruitment or just the 5 to finish this one off before it all starts again?

Have heard from multiple sources that next intake will open later this year, but not sure exactly when...

Believe SAFECOM have very recently approved a retained MFS Station for Mt Barker... no timeframe, but sooner rather than later...

Any updates? Anyone know when exactly the 4th squad is scheduled to start?

How many candidates typically get invited to PAT 2?

Have heard second hand from a couple of CFS staff members recently that MFS plan to run several drill squads next year due to a lot of FF reaching retirement age in very near future.

Mustn't be too many left in the interview pool, particularly with more interviews happening next week?

Anybody have any idea how many more squads will be run from the current recruitment process? The third squad starts this month and they are also interviewing more candidates later this month so must be running at least one more squad early 2018...

Are you sure they aren't retained firies being interviewed? They have never run more than 4 before. Heard a rumour they may open applications in around 2 months time, just a rumour

Yes, 100% certain they are not retained interviews. I know a couple of people that have been called up for interviewing late this month and they are part of the full time recruitment.
