Title: New Helicopter
Post by: mattb on November 29, 2005, 08:39:43 PM
I have uploaded a pic of a new SA fire bombing helicopter to the Gallery.

They are both 'Koalas' and this one is nearly new (60 hours). The other will be hear in a week or so, they will be officially launched on the 19th of December.

They are both fitted with 1200 litre belly tanks and are operated by HeliAir from Adelaide Airport.

Look out for them during summer.

I overheard one morning this week a GRN radio message stating that a water-bomber had landed at Mount gambier airport. Maybe a fixed wing aircraft will be based in the south-east ?

This year we have two fixed wing bombers in the southeast working out of the mount but one can be moved around the region when needed, one bomber was working out of naracoorte last sunday just in case there was anything.
