Does anyone know if it was the house catching fire that caused the scrub fire?

Would be good to see Seaford get the 24P, then they could possibly use their old one as a spare   :wink:

Short notice. For example Waikerie fires: the fire has been going for a few days, paged at 1600 to be at Blanchetown by 1800. Surely more forward planning for this type of event can take place? Why couldnt they page at say 10:00 am for 18:00, giving people more time to organise themselves?

Heard Rob Sandford on the ABC earlier saying the was about 30 fires started by lightning up there. Would have been a lot of running around for those brigades concerned.

Under the old cfs call signs what would these vehicles have been?

`Compton 25`
`Compton 31`
`Compton 42`
`Compton 53`
`Compton 64`
`Compton 71`

25 = ?
31 = QAV/Landcruiser type
42 = 24/34
53 = 22/32
64 = 14
71 = 12
Was i close?

Heard on the radio they had those fires under control? Either they just want some fresh crews or something drastic has happened.

 Ahh your cynacism is noted, but I do believe that the vast majority of urban fringe brigades are more than happy with the appliances allocated to them.

Seems to be a bit more action on the west coast. Bombers responded to a fire near Mt Hope then stood down only to be responded to the same area later. Does anyone know what resources are being used on KI? There were an awful lot of pages last night for a level 3 IMT team for the fire but there doesnt seem to be any ground crews? Anyone able to shed some light?

After Wangary, every time a fire develops on the West coast, I cringe, and hope that it is contained QUICKLY.  Good luck to the West Coast crews working this one.  I wonder if they have air support?
