Nothing wrong with sci-fi. The backrounds and borders are a huge improvement on the old site.

Country Fire Service / Re: CFS NEEDING MORE APPLIANCE'S
« on: January 20, 2007, 02:47:45 PM »
The no training at STC happens every year as Pip said. This is one of the reasons that CFS uses STC staff for Air ops and the like. They can easily drop every thing and go to operational duties. Bit harder when they are running courses. Also spreads the load a bit. Cant really employ more staff for STC due to the $$.

The pre-training you are talking about was made available to some minority groups to assist their preparation for the intake requirements.

The command cars generally get changed over pretty regularly now with the SA govt. Not saying that lives arent worth the cost but you know.

Yes but wasnt Meadows just a small fire?? At least Mundoo was available should something bigger had happened. Would have looked pretty silly if there was another big fire and no appliances for miles around.

Better to leap frog some groups and leave them full of resources in case something else happens. Makes sense to bring in appliances/crews from further away.

That movie Backfire has to be one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I bought it on DVD for $2 and dont reckon it was even worth that. Seem to have misplaced it somehow. LOL.

No the CFS cant respond to a fire in MFS area and extinguish it and not tell anyone that would be like stealing your big brothers girlfriend lol. Thats just the rules. I dont make em I`m just the messenger.

Do people think that it is odd that no CFS/MFS personnel have gone to Victoria?? They are even talking about getting people from the US.

Can respond 30-40km around that mark beyond the boundary. Discretion is used though. For example if that MFS station is going to then have trouble covering their own area by doing that it may not happen. For example it would be silly to send Mt Gambier to a grass fire near Millicent and then respond a CFS appliance for COQ.
