So it seems the new SACAD system is able to produce a UBD style map reference for country areas now like saas has been able to for quite a while, will any TIMS upgrades now or in the near future have the mapping ability it does now for areas covered by the normal street directory for ''rural'' SA?  could be very handy if they do include it?

maybe it was an oil spill or something similar and the adelaide fire put it under that accidentally?

apparently the procedures have been sent to groups, be interesting to see how long it takes to filter down to brigades if at all in some instances, it will mean big changes to procedure for some groups!

Has anyone Hopefully any groups with some very irregular responses for some jobs are able to fix it before it comes online

we havent heard a peep down here (thats far from surprising anyway) believe our group still want us to run our current format where we book ack or mobile with comms then go to group TG for arrival, sitreps uprgrdes etc etc... why we hae to keep that sy.stem has got me as there is no benefit in doing it, i would rather us just work with comms for that and talk to group only if needed.

But can see people getting used up we get the shitty calls too but are usually able to filter the majority of them out before they reach the pagers (via alerts).

Just curious how u filter "those" calls out that other fire brigades respond to through alerts??? Of course the calls come in for burnoffs that are known in the area etc that dont need a truck turned out to, is that what you meant by that statement?

perhaps the reason behind those brigdes going is because they are closest resources for a strike team not because they have outback experience  :?

All '9' pumpers in MFS carry HAZMAT equipment, therefore Seaford 469 and Christies 439 are a tad closer.

just curious, wouldnt be Seaford 469 or Christies 439 be far closer resources to respond to this job than Eden Hills??

interesting if SAAS have dropped doing that considering they attend far more MVA's than the fire and rescue services are called to!

i Know that one on this drill squad is 50, and was offered a 5yr contract to pt pirie, maybe thats the MFS' way of getting more out of the older folk is to put them in quieter stations?

fundraising and grants have done alot for our brigade,, we have spent upwards of 40k+ on the station and equipment over the last 4 or 5 years without it we would have bare basics but we have been able to uprgrade the whole station and buy eqipment essential to our operation that is above the standard stowge. Many other brigades have done the same. We work very hard for what we have gotten and jealousy has shown its head time to time from brigades who dont have much but if you dont do the hard yards you cant get what is needed sometimes.

somehow i dont thin the interest generated from all fundraising would be great enough to make that big of a difference

Country Fire Service / Re: Firefighter Response System
« on: September 08, 2011, 08:13:52 PM »
I could definatly see the benefit for our brigade with this system,, Reasonable callout rate to justify it and the fact a number of members live within 2 mins of the station and a larger number living 5-8 mins away,, usually being one of the first there it would be great to know who is coming and if we have enough for second truck.
The cost however may be the issue, it could stretch funds for other things we have or may need.

Well done Barker for finding a system that works for them
