Country Fire Service / Re: MFS Take Over
« on: July 12, 2006, 11:17:09 PM »
honestly, i believ an MFS station in mt barker is necessary. It doesn't have to be a wakefield street setup, all it needs to be is a one truck station with a standard scania pumper, nothing more, nothing less. I don't think anyone is suggesting we eradicate barker, just modify their setup to a more rural one, with a 24, 34p and a QAV for small grassies. with that setup, chances are barker would still get precious numbers as they would backup the MFS if an incident was large. as manuel said, hahndorf, l/hampton, nairne are all close by as well if things got nasty at a job.

I feel just having that full time crew there would do the job.

crank is also a key part of a bike, while we're at it.

as far as the original meaning, what can the word "crank" do that the word "knob" cannot?

unfortunately, i have a relative who left the CFA due to dead bodies. in his short time in the CFA, he saw 2 bodies, one that had perished in a domestic fire, and the second was one of his friends who died in an RCR. he left immediately. it shook him up for a while before he came to terms with it.

i feel i little sorry for those guys, feeling undermined. however, more stations = more MFS positions available. Maybe then it won't be so hard to get into.

Backburn... does your appliance have a HALO system on it?

Im thinking it might only be that build or later rather than all that are getting the 'fresh air system' (or whatever its going to be dubded).....
All speculation though!

HALON mike. I don't think a High Altitude Low Opening parachute systems gonna be much good in a burn over! :-D

by HALON, im assuming you are referring to the gas that gets released sucking all oxygen out of the air. Not sure how well they would work in trucks. eh
