Anyway, do people think the CFS should re-stripe the entire fleet to the red/yellow checker so we dont look like a half-assed fire service?

OFF Topic / Re: pager tone 7
« on: August 10, 2006, 03:55:49 PM »
i live practically next door to the fire station, so i usually just leg it there during the day, and not really read my pager and if it is a test i just socialize with the people at the station testing stuff.  :-D.
What happens at night? Do you drive there?

MFS: RESPOND To 02/08/06 16:10,7 ALICE ST,HILLBANK, MAP 62 D 12 ,,CAT RESCUE,332*CFSRES:
This is a bit sneaky. Did they do it this way so they didnt have to respond the SES :? :-)

182
Why is it a joke? CFS 24P appliances back up MFS a lot and while they struggle to supply enough water to the Scanias they still do an okay job. Better than having no trucks at all protecting the area, dont you think?

But they are the poor, retarded cousin of a proper pumper.
Maybe if the CFS stopped using the excuse that the MFS are there you dont need a pumper there would be more of them :?

183
i dont think your brigade ever does COQ does it PF?

SAlisbury CFS did the change to Pt Adelaide.... presumably 32's appliances were either staying in area or covering somewhere else...
Both Salisbury MFS appliances were at the Port Adelaide fire.
I think also Salisbury CFS cover Salisbury, Pt Adelaide and Largs for COQ.

Country Fire Service / Re: election time
« on: July 22, 2006, 02:20:57 PM »
From the SAFECOM act

18-Group Elections

(14) For the purposes of subregulations (12) and (13), if 2 candidates have an equal number of votes and 1 of them must be excluded, the person presiding at the election will determine the question by lot.
Have been at an AGM where the vote was tied, they decided who got the position by lot, as above. The only strange part was the person who's name was removed from the hat was excluded and the name in the hat won.
Stange way of doing it. Cant work out if every thing was above board in the mentioned election why they would have to vote again  :?

We had the BA cylander put in under the back seat the other day and we have found that when we get in we kick it and turn it on by mistake. Does this happen to any other new 34 around?   :?
Why did you have a BA cylinder put under the seat?

Are'nt these appliances supposed to be fitted out with the best of the gear that come in off the retired trucks? I know when we got our truck changed over some of the hoses etc were still very good usable hoses.

Might be just info nights? Someone else might have some more info. Either way they will probably never get the data base right.
