Let me explain what a pumper tanker is for you,its a fire truck with large water and pumping capacity. At the moment they dont have a vehicle that does both.

Alot of people in the cfs are scared that the mfs are going to cut their lunch. So what i am saying is that the mfs lack response times in their country towns. The cfs can provide just the same service if not better. So when i read some of the crap that gets posted it makes me want to point out that both fire services are not perfect.

Helped build hundreds of fire trucks around Australia, all different models and
services, involved in design and manufacturing.Work for both Fire Services. So couldnt just sit back and not communicate some logic to the people.Check you later.

Its getting changed over tommorrow, with an old spare 145 which has just been refurbed. It has new BA seats and locker deck outs. This model is abit slow of the mark but ok overall.

All Equipment discussion / Petrol Engine Pumps?

Heard Bradbury and other Brigades have gone back to petrol engine pumps, was wondering the reason for it?

Personally i would pay a union fee,its tax deductable and we offer free fuel getting to the fire station. So who cares giving a little bit more if its going to help things. If you always do the same things, you always get the same things.

On the good side of things the fire service got more vehicles for their money.

I may ruffel a few feathers at headquaters but i reckon the new Isuzu 4x4 twin cabs are a dangerous vehicle. They are very high in regards to access in and out for older firefighters and also could roll over easier than other models of 4x4 on the market.
