Does state policy overtake regional policy...
POSTER > State
MEMO > Region
Personally, i know where i want to wear it, and i compare that to both.
POSTER > Green light
MEMO > Red light
Guess where i wont wear it that keeps state and region happy lulz!
In regards to "confirmed/AFA's"...those brigades who heard that, have misinterpreted the memo.

CFS SCC, most likely the air desk, should be the ones with the right to act on the first 15mins Sitreps to determine whether an Ignition Development needs to be sent out. That would be the solution to create trust in these messages.

While i'm a volunteer, volunteering to do something for nothing, this thought came to mind...
Q: What's the similarity between two terms "Volunteer" and "OHS"
A: Everyone uses those words as an excuse for something. EG: We need a new chair because of OHS, to save money. We're only volunteer.
The default policy is good for when the pager actually goes off...

Agreed! But an additional Urban appliance is the preferred option!
Forever has no end date, I think amalgamation will be progressed way faster than that, sorta like a parting gift I rekon!

It will take a total of 8 commitee meetings, 4 group commitee meetings, 2 RVMC meetings, a COAC meeting....then followed by 12 more commitee meetings....
Its 2009 now, so that makes it.....2011.

This is a new thread spawned from the Mt Barker 3rd Alarm Commercial fire. Along the lines of Amusing pager messages where we can put random thoughts here and present the truth with it.
And here we start.
Myth: CFS wont ever have a fire similar to the Kilburn Fire in September 2009. In its response area, because we are a rural fire service. "We only ever see those guys at strike teams (rural jobs)!"
Fact: We will undoubtedly eventually face a 4th or higher alarm response structural fire some day. We should be training for it, we should be Structure Fire Ready...not just bushfire ready...

sometimes they do, sometimes not. Eg. the second alarm at Mitcham the other day went to MFS from Adelaide, Paradise, Prospect etc and no CFS at all were called even though Sturt group brigades and Burnside are closer and appropriate.

Now whats the SOP Number for CFS's default policy??? Add SACAD to the mix....i think Mt Barker may get its backup sooner...

Thanks, i hear crap being given about brigades like barker the like....even within my own brigade, it gets me fuming because they have no understanding....
It all comes back to this, Yes we are volunteers, but we should relise entirely "We are THE Fire Service". The public rely on us. We are the public, that decide to be replied upon.
Best solution, you have a brigade of trained and enthusiastic volunteer firefighters, whats the cheapest way of improving it... Better appliances & Retaining those existing firefighters (Not starting up a new retained brigade from scratch). ...then employ more retained firefighters.
Mt Barker can easily gain a 4th appliance and crew it then....that cover's 2 alarms.
Dad's army, no more.

When was the last time you saw a CFS member at an incident not wearing PPE....i could count a number of occurances in the past 3 months....
