If you comment on peoples maths then expect comment on your English.

There as in here and there refers to places
Their as in his, yours, theirs refers to ownership.

Let's not forget the missing apostrophe while we're at it then...

it is forestry remember they dont actually look outside or read weather reports before deciding whether they are going to burn or not.

Bit of a drive....though most appropriate resource would have been at least ERV071, if not perhaps some oil tanker going through the Southern Ocean??

PTEL: Middleton QRV and southcoast SES on scene no further resources required. Regards DO lack of comms from A/F

Thats a bit uncalled for, no comms to AF regarding appliances mobile would be a good starting point there.

Lack of comms from Middleton was actually the issue there.

Seeing as the DO acknowledged A/F and they know that, wouldn't it be as easy to radio that DO and ask if they are out the door. It would seem that it depends which team is on up there to whether they use their radios to ask the question or just press a button. Yes we should all come up to A/F and acknowledge the call. But we can all use the radio and ask the question hey. You can't run the job buy sitting behind a desk making decision with out asking what's going on first.

There is more to ack. of the page though? Like a mesaage saying an appliance is mobile to the job? Its not hard to do and makes the people behind the desks pushing the buttons job far easier to do.

Seems like a mighty timewaster to try and chase up on the alerts (if anyone picks up) or try and chase up on the radio once again if anyone is monitoring 124?  All it takes is a blah blah mobile to incident blah and it can all be avoided!

Tell the brigades to do their own radio and acknowledgement, you can't run a job from your lounge room or your driveway.

Sorry only new to it. But it sounds like some stations can't get a comms person to do there radio during an incident. Sound like DO response ability are forgotten and the time they give up to help brigades with comms when they cant are lost. It goes both ways.  Don't they have two radios to monitor 124 and your local talk group? Just like a station. I thought they were there to help with comms while the brigade runs the show at the scene? They only make a decision based on what a brigade asks for or as good as the sitrep is given to them. Only been out a couple of times with a DO and from what I've seen they try to play as a team, not a 1 man show. If you get a chance jump in a car with them and see what it's like on the other side.

All well and good as long as someone answers that radio call...

It's ok all the sacad rules have gone out the window so I guess we will all agree to do whatever we like and no one can say anything, AF can't get in trouble if brigades and groups don't get in trouble for the retarded things they do, shy think about community, so long as your egos are serviced right?
