Post by: Camo on October 06, 2006, 07:09:16 PM

What if all three services joined as one...MFS, CFS & SES.

As much as it sounds like a good idea Camo there would be problems as MFS is a paid fire service and CFS&SES are volunteer services this would cause alot of bickering among all 3 over response areas and so on

If theres one thing that would be useful is by combining NPWSA and Forestry SA into one service

Isn't it up to us to get the database right?
I agree, bring it on! Share resources, training and experience (not to mention funding ;))... Why would it cause bickering?  I don't see much bickering between CFS vols and paid staff... hehehe :P

I say bring it on,ses have 1500 members and some of there units have very bad crewing problems in small towns as do the CFS or MFS or SAAS why not combine them into one service that will serve the community better.Small and remote country towns can no longer provide the people power to support 3 or 4 services that have to use Volunteers but at the same time the public or government can not afford to pay for staff..

The Cad system is only as good as the information that brigades and group's supply when it comes around to your groups turn make sure you attend fill in what needs fill in and review it on a yearly time frame so as to make sure things have not been missed or changed....

Blinky .... it's quality not quantity that counts.

However ALL services, regardless of their size have issues with volunteer crewing, there are examples across the state in all services where some town have better member ship in one service than another.

The key issue is community service - what suits the community and will maintain membership and a suitable level of service
