Gee Cam,why do you always make them filtered hard,looks as if we will have to wait for back up,but our safety must come first....there are things that you can do while waiting for back up to arrive... I can see where your coming from mate our back up may only be our second appliances or it may be 45 mins away.. There are things like has anyone really seen the people inside?? is there a car in the drive way??? look hard call but I am sure we would all go for (1) our safety (2) wait for CABA back up....

Not sure,but one would hope that the family are being taken care of by the insurance that CFS have on all its members but it is never enough..May be the VFBA can put some more light onto this one....

This will mark the 60th year of service that the brigade has provided to the community. sorry for taking so long to get back to this but have been busy moving things around in the big shed..... 27th of may at 2pm at One tree hill fire station. 2pm on 2 june at willalooka hall and on 3rd of june at 2pm at the Naracoorte show grounds where there will be a display of appliances that we have in the shed. The cost of the book is $39.95 plus postage or they will be on sale on the day.......

It is not our job to detour cars/trucks what ever, that is the job of SAPOL or the owner of that road CFS members are not trained in road traffic control and we all know if you make a mistake it comes back to you if there is a problem when you take it upon yourself to change the flow of traffic...

when some brigade's got new appliances they also got new RCR gear or lost their RCR gear as they where no longer a RCR brigade.I know the gear that came off eden hills pumper was a full set and they got a replacement gear of a com bi tool only .There old gear was in the shed last time I looked at STC,but it may have been sold by now who knows...My brigade has had hurst till about 4 years ago when we got the new rescue and now run lukas and are very happy with it.

$50,000 would be the min,if you where only planning on having a com bi tool as they start at around $25,000 for a new set or $18,000 TO $20,000 for a second hand or demo set. Then there is the cost of rams,air bags,soft and hard protection,PPE, ETC...If you where to go the full kit I would say in this day and age you would be looking $100k...Then Where are you going to store it?? will it all fit on a currant appliances or will you need a new one that is only for rescue use???
Now having said all that you have to ask the question what happended to all the rescue gear that came of appliances in the last two years was it sold or is it still sitting up in that shed at STC??
