And its still burning well 2 days later :P
funny that the spot fire surrounded a house a media crew were house sitting lol
*not meant to be funny*...as i was doing asset protection there, just the wrong place to have things go wrong.
Not funny as the fire started spotting...appears spotting 250 - 300 metres from the main fire....
Very scary fire behaviour this early in the season....
Pip

To true, add another 10Deg in temp and another 15-20kms of wind, its all the signs of a very ugly summer for the state.
You also have to look at what time the media updates came out and that structures where under theart,I am sure pip/ash took some nice photos....

yes i knew that. i did word my post wrongly.
We were there before the fire took off.....there was a sudden wind shift (and a Southerly at that) and within about 5 minutes it started crowning...
Photos will be on the Promo site today - www.fire-brigade.asn.au

great photos pip, gives a great perspective of the work you guys do in fighting a fire... Well Done
With NSAW, nothing changes...
:-o wow those are some really good shots pip and yeah you are right it did crown really fast, just goes to show how fast our parks and pine plantations are drying off :|
May be that is one reason we have a fire ban here Thursday????
