All the stats on the sizes of fires were in Todays paper (21/12/05) - Ranged from a few hectares, to 180 or so hectares being the largest...
The bordertown fire was the largest in the state and did not make it on the news the size was 615hct and was contained with only 9 appliances and no air support......
Sounds like a good effort by the Bordertown and Coonalpyn CFS Groups to contain it to that size :-D
As for no media coverage - probally a good thing, allows us to get on with our jobs without watching over our sholders to see who's watching us
