Title: Site Upgrade
Post by: Firefrog on August 01, 2006, 10:53:59 AM
We are experiencing a problem with user registration and this is difficult to diagnose. We will upgrade the site very soon. You will see the site go off line possibly for several hours. We will limit the downtime but it could be longer. Appreciate your patience.

Thanks for your patience! We have had 24 Hours downtime, but we now believe everything is working as expected.

You may report errors or problems in this thread.

This has been the largest upgrade yet on SA Fire Fighter. With changes to software and databases.

You should see improved site speed/load times and security has been enhanced.

Enjoy!!!! :-D

I get a little "image not found" icon under my posts... it appears to be modify_inline.gif that is missing...
When i select 'view image':
QuoteThe requested URL /boards/Themes/PortalBlue/images/icons/modify_inline.gif was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

If that page is loading for you on your first visit to the site - it's possible you have your favourite set to that link.

The page is a normal part of the forum which displays a member list and is available from the members button at the top of the forum.

Do You Have VLC Player Installed?  There Is A Known Issue With VLC Installing Its Own Plugin For FireFox.  If You Don't Have VLC Do You Run Anything Like NoScript Extention.

Many of the icon related issues are now resolved - Funny how you fix one problem only to create another.

Graphic trouble shooting continues.... :-D :-D :-D

There is nothing from this site that would prevent you from using media player in Firefox. :-D

Are the little triangle buttons used to collapse the boards and quick reply, and to sort columns supposed to be black? (They used to be white)...
(I think they look better in white ;))

There are still a few graphic things that need fixing. As time permits around other pressing things we will fix those up. It may stay as it is for the next few weeks.  :-D

When I take too long writing a post, I get an error that my session has timed out... (I can still post, i just have to click post again) Is there anyway you can lengthen the session time a bit?
Title: Re: Site Upgrade
Post by: Firefrog on August 21, 2006, 12:32:42 PM
The unused session time out is set for 60 minutes. Could that amount of time have passed while you type or since you navigated elsewhere on the site?
Title: Re: Site Upgrade
Post by: CFS_Firey on August 21, 2006, 02:51:39 PM
No, certainly not... probably more like 10-15 minutes max. Although... does it count each new browser window as a separate session? (meaning, can i be browsing in one window, and have the session in the other window expire?)

(Just happened again in the time I took to type this message, which wasn't long...)

The following error or errors occurred while posting this message:

Title: Re: Site Upgrade
Post by: Firefrog on August 21, 2006, 08:17:13 PM
Hmmmm - I will look deeper. In the mean time can you try logging out, clearing any SAFF or SMF cookies and log back in. Session problems can be related to cookies.

Also check that you select log in 'forever' in the login form....

Are the links in the RSS feed supposed to point to the thread they are from, or just the index page?  It appears as though they should open the thread, but they never do for me... :|

Not sure what you mean  Are you referring to the RSS feeds on the main site? If so these links should open an external web site with the related story.
