Several MFS fire trucks, MFS Command car, MFS Breathing Aparatus vehicle and two SAAS paramedic vehicles out the front of the Hyatt Regency Hotel, North Tce tonight.
The vehicle entrances to the Hyatt have been blocked at North Tce by safety cones with SAPOL monitoring.
Then I read the GRN pager messages:
1926886 17:40:24 12-12-06 MFS: CHANGE QUARTERS TO STATION 35
1925588 17:15:18 12-12-06 MT171 Cat3 Hyatt Regency Hotel North Tce, Adelaide 118 B9 CHEMICAL HAZARD
1919074 17:08:54 12-12-06 MFS: APPROX 5 LTR HYDROGEN PEROXIDE SPILT IN LAUNDRY !! UNCONFIRMED!!
1925587 17:07:32 12-12-06 CT74 Cat3 Hyatt Regency Hotel North Tce, Adelaide 118 B9 CHEMICAL HAZARD
The unidentified chemical was later confirmed to be just salt  but better safe than sorry
robert... i think you may be confusing two seperate incidents....
unless i am out of the loop, but the job that was a drum of salt was at snowtown as far as i am aware.
Trucks left reasonably quickly, so not sure what happened.
But ti started myself thinking about the logistics of evacuating (how many floors or the whole building), shutdown of aircon, decom of staff, dealing with media, etc, etc..
Station 35 is Gawler.
mmm the COQ page is unrelated, possibly something to do with the grassie out that way this arvo
