Volunteer Week Commercial
« on: May 11, 2008, 09:25:57 PM »
Gday,

Anyone else seem the volunteer week commercial with the acrobats?  The pagers going off in tone 7, although a great tool to grab attention, isnt that nice for actual firefighters.  Had a couple of us looking at our pagers anyway.

Attended a 'thank you breakfast' this morning for volunteers, employers & family. Held by VMB at St Peters Town Hall with government officials as well.

Certificates & medals given out.

The commercial was shown after the speeches, but I have not seen it on TV yet. I think other items will be on radio & newspapers.

What are others doing for Volunteer Week ?

But change that damn advert, that's 3 times I'm up to where I've gone to grab my pager and it's been the blasted advert again!

Is this ad just aired in the S.E? Have yet to see it on TV.

No we saw it Sunday night about 9pm on Ch10.  Wasn't paying much attention to the ads so when the tone 7 went off it took the heart rate up alittle and sent us scrambling for pagers. Got a touch confused when the pager stopped after 3 sets when I muted the tv  :-D

Noticed the thank-you advert to volunteers from SAFECOM, CFS & SES in the local Messenger Newspaper.

The advert was not part of the Volunteering SA three page spread, but closer to the front of the paper. Is the advert in the other Messenger newspapers ?

Perhaps no SAAS, as they are not part of SAFECOM...? (Well, not yet anyway...)

Your right Alan, that's all I do with my spare time is sit around and watch tv. :-D It's actually annoying when someone else has the tv on and I'm somewhere else in the house because it sounds like my pager is going off in the other room

The mind just boggles as to how many people rolled up at their stations to find that no one else has turned up, after this went to air
