I think at this point we can all just hope and pray that there is no loss of life in the coming days. Sure there will be total destruction and the force of Yasi is still unknown but to all our fellow Emergency service workers in QLD good luck and Hang on

SES wise they want USAR CAT2 people, so only those that have done the higher level of training.

Think CFS wise it would be clean up crews, we aren't really qualified for much else. Maybe some staff for IMT ?

Talking to a QFRS member today, all states have been asked to look at sending in crews once its safe to get into area's. i just spoke to family at Airley beach wind 150kms and power is out in some area's they will be hit by 2300hrs and rain of up to 500mm...

On page 4 of the 'Sunday Mail'.....it should be 50 SA SES volunteers & 3 staff flying this morning to Cairns.
