Yes he apparantly wasn't very happy to know that there wouldn't be any food waiting for them at our station when they arrived?? But scheiße happens we had both our trucks at the job and didn't even know that region had organised COQ so we released our 24P from scene earlier then expexted!!!!

I think they should remember that our group went and did COQ to Lofty group when Mount Osmond went up!!

I think the problem is Regional dont talk to the group and the group dont talk to regional.

How about we get ourselves organised for a change!

I don't think it was anything to do with food (or hitler, have you had your medication bill?), I think it was that they drove down there then got told they weren't needed and to go home, ie. a waste of time.  I'm pretty sure they blame region not your group and certainly don't mind COQ.  BTW he has expressed his thoughts (that's understatement there) to region.

which group?  or are you talking generally?
I'd like to see region 1 HQ acting in a support role (as they are supposed to) rather than start doing things off their own bat without consulting with the people running/involved in the incident.  I'm not just talking about this incident, it has happened several times just lately that I know of, and causing stuff-ups every time.

Thats fair enough!!! our group didn't know about the COQ until they were nearly there (i think) by that time we had arranged for our 24P to be released and i think they drove up the drive way about 5 mins after Aldgate got there!!! But if the group had known about it then they probably would have been stopped, but perhaps if it was organised by region earlier instead of 2hrs after the call then they would have been usefull!!

I take my medication each day  but there is so muck lack of communitcation of late between people that something needs to be done. If he was not happy well pick the phone up and talk to region and see what they have to say.. as for food well there are some great eat outs at GOOLWA they could have taken there 24p and got some food sat in the station and then go home.. But make sure you send your food account to CFS for payment....

Yeah you did COQ with a few rural trucks in urban stations whilst local brigades were still home doing SFA....Maybe region should have sent another strike team to the Cox Scrub fire to begin with so crews got on top of it quicker and Goolwa's rescue tender could be sent home.

Am told there were 42 appliances on site for that job. The crews did a fantastic job, with a couple of really good saves (could have been there for quite a few more days if it got into the next patch of scrub).

Would be interesting to find out where the COQ actually came from. Aldgate was offered food from the IMT, but were well on there way home by thay time.

Little Hampton 24P did COQ to Strath, despite Strath having thier 24P and a crew still available to cover the area. IMT thought LH24P was ment to be heading to the fireground.

In any case, it all comes back to communication.... or lack there of, as said before.

Is this like an emergency services game of musical chairs? Was the couch on fire, perhaps, or are they just short of seating in the Mt Gambier area?

They didn't want to send our 24P home than someone said that they were low on deisel and had to return to Goolwa to fill up (It didn't need it) so they did and got released.:-D

Also the fact that Port Elliot was on standby in their station with 2 appliances one of them could have been sent to Goolwa but hey it's up to region i guess??

Yep, We (Pt Elliot) sat at station fully crewed and was not called, neither to cox scrub nor to Goolwa station. We could have put a crew at Goolwa and saved outside appliances manning an un-familiar station or area.
I understand about not going to cox scrub. There were no appliances in Victor area either, so we were watching their area as well, but well still could have crewed at Goolwa and at Pt Elliot.
Communications is only a word in the dictionary...noboby knows what it means.
