Obviously our brigade doesn't exist to cover our own area or have BA anymore????

Is it not an SOP that a BA brigade should be responded to car fires :|

Sure is al,but it is also a two brigade call out to any job so who ever took the call (SHQ.or the local number) needs to have a look at what could happen by sending a single brigade. Not sure what it is like at the airfield but most have nice big sheds filled with fuel....may be the call take felt only one brigade was needed...

Also depends on what the local brigade person on ALERTS says, CAD will solve that issue of locals ignoring SOP's and nearest brigades. Or even sending a brigade  :-)

How often do you listen to jobs and shake your head !! How many times do you hear Captain Joe Blogs responding in the ute to check out a fixed alarm and never hear a truck..........ahhhhhh, it makes you wonder why the brigades that do it right even bother, those other brigades seem to get away with being dodgy.

Anyway, what can you do.

They did go to that call, they usually re-page once SOC tells them there's a call

From what I heard it sounded like MFS went to all of those calls in Seaford area. I think if they come in on the alerts, SOC have to call MFS and respond them as well.
Crankster on scene, you can take a stop...

Seaford still use Alerts, last time I checked CFS can't activate SAMFS MDT's.

Good to see they eventually called the right brigade, I'm hoping SACAD will fix this kind of thing as this call was WAAAAAY closer to currency creek and goolwa than strath and ashbourne. still don't know how yo can confuse this location as ashbourne as it is at least 20 km from there..

And just as an after thought i realise strath CFS has RCR operators to help out the SES but if an accident is in another town then shouldn't 2nd rescue be immediately responded if you can't crew a truck, i think the idea works if your responding close by but if your responding to other town then 2nd rescue response is a must..........

end rant

Agree Al, but in all fairness the job was dispatched by MFS as Strathalbyn Road, Ashbourne which is Strath SES Rescue area

The initial info given to the ambulance service was very sketchy, with several possible locations given by the caller(s) - three ambulances were dispatched, to try and cover the possible locations...

I don't know if SACAD will really help out much with callers who have no idea where they are!!

IF details were so sketchy then it shoukd have been a similar response for fire and rescue (bad SAAS info maybe???) as CFS had a call like that in the Mallee yesterday and responded a heap of resources to cover in case it was in a different spot??. anywho such is the system we have, scheiße happens.

BTW hope everyones had a good easter

for that call the initial details were given to SOCC from SAAS with no hint that they may be incorrect. these details determined the initial response (ashbourne & strath ses) and when details were updated, they diverted and did not request further resources...

in the case of the mallee hwy prang, it was obvious that details were sketchy, and so appliances covered the gap ;)
