KI fire must have been huge to give off the much smoke.  It came all around and surrounded Gawler and could see it even in the hills east of Gawler.  I tohught there must have been a big fire around Gawler somehwere....

Yeah our fire phone was ringing non stop for a few hours, i think my mobile phone almost melted.

In comparison KI is only a few thousand hectares, where as Ngarkat is around the 60,000 hectare mark... Imagine if the wind blew that smoke our way...

Nargkat = 80,000Ha
Got a page around 11am saying KI = 2,800ha and still going

Even though i was probably one of the first volunteers to call Region 5 after they put out a request for the South East Strike Team to KI for the fires there i some how missed out on being selected so you arent the only one to have missed out Mack  :cry: :-( :-)

Very smoke logged here in naracoorte from the Victoian fire's I would not be surprised if they ask for help soon mind you we have been over the border alot to edenhope to help them...

dont thin CFS would be willing to release any strike teams to go interstate at this point in time... not with KI, Ngarkat and severe weather expected etc...

As far as i know NO but that may change,a page went out friday for group's in region 5 to think about what appliances could go over if needed not sure what they have selected..

Not sure, got some links from someone in Melbourne.  Maybe Dudley park is in KI.  Thought it was in Victoria...  :|
