As a fulltime firefighter, I think both services have equal merits.

You however, need to seriously think about what you say before you type.

Hope you feel better for enlightening us with your comments doug.  Don't be afraid to keep them to yourself next time.

I don't want to be your hero doug, I would much rather be able to read a forum without posts like yours which only insight trouble, or the ' stirring of the pot '.

Grow up.

Doug, I would be happy for you to tell everyone that MFS is better, if you have evidence to back it up, if not I think you should SHUT THE F&*K UP!

^^Agree's with pixie.
If we were paid, fulltime firies i would hope we would be more experienced and "Better" at the job than a volunteer service.

Taking it the wrong way, it's like a amateur golfer and a pro having a comp technically the pro should win because he does it for a living but the amateur is also very good but only does it as a side thing. Hence the better in "". I don't think that made any sense but :|

What is it with you?  If i remember correctly you are responsible for several topics which just start with a short non descriptive sentence.  If i wasnt mistaken i would say you are trying to stir scheiße!

Anyway....As its been said each service has its own merits.  But something to remember is that you cant generalise the two services also as there is some CFS brigades that train and attend more jobs (structural & rural) then some MFS brigades & vice versa.

Also i  believe funding and equipment also have a part to play in this argument.

  I couldn't agree more

So its "We're only part time volunteers" when challenged about skill levels.  But its "I know everything about firefighting, and i'm not scared to voice my opinion" when not under any real pressure.

Im only guessing, but over time I have observed that yours and K99's posts occur when a particular shift is on duty.

Not that there is anything wrong with adding to and assisiting this forum with your knowlegde and experience, but I for one pick up on the often snarly and sarcastic comments, and im assuming others do to. (Not saying that all of them are by any means...  :-) )

A little professionalism is all that could be asked for.

Stay safe.  :-)

All I can say is this:
Dang straight i'm sarcastic and snarly.  And yep I reackon others would pick it too, so don't think its just you being all ultra sensitive, coz its not
And as to the question of what shift i'm on, well it goes like this, am I even a paid firefighter, I can't ever actually recall stating whether i'm a full time firey or vollie, so i'll just let you keep guessing.
