Maybe I am reading this wrong (I hope so). Why is treating all volunteers with respect, valuing a different opinion but still following operational lines of control and resolving problems before they explode a LOAD OF CRAP !!
Not all problems can be resolved. Sometimes it is a 'agree to disagree' situation. Sometimes it is best if a volunteer does leave rather than upset the whole team. Not everyone will fit in.
But I personally believe a fair percentage of volunteers leave the services for resolvable issues. It takes so much time, cost, etc to train someone. Better to keep them than spend money in recruiting replacements.
I remember in another posting that people were complaining because volunteers are leaving and the lack of female volunteers. Maybe we can resolve the issue before they leave
