off topic a bit, when cars are going to fast just make out that you are going to drop the STOP/SLOW sign on the car, wave it at them on a angle , it works

The tag system is a good idea, but I have found out of the years that good officers know what each crew member can and can't do

The SES do a good job. If you lost them, think of all the other training CFS would need to do.
Nothing against the SES, but they can have trees, flooding, search and rescue and storm damage days.
Yes the CFS helps when they get overloaded

For about 3 weeks the CFS did Change of quarters to MFS stations.
I remember seeing the following brigades around town and other stations
Belair
Blackwood
Burnside
Eden Hills
Happy Valley
Morphett Vale
Oakbank-Balhannah
Stirling
I think there was a heap more

Incident Operations / Re: First Fire
« on: May 18, 2006, 10:00:56 AM »
My first fire (house fire) was in the mid 80's as a cadet. Yes cadet don't go to fires.
We were doing some training on a Sunday morning we had about 6 cadets and 5 seniors. The reason we went to the fire is that  we were just about driving past the job.
We were told stay on the truck and don't move. We came around the corner and could see a stack of black smoke ( I think all us as cadets had eyes popping out of our heads)I think we were told ok set up a hydrant and watch out for traffic. Then stay on the truck, but the job was a

Steam train that has stopped.
