How about the rains up north? I have heard that Whyalla MFS station had one foot of water through it today, lol.

SES State Control Centre active from Friday night & will stay active until Sunday. Two flat bed trucks of equipment from Adelaide delivered extra equipment to Port Pirie, Port Augusta and beyond. Three SES vehicles with metro crew assisted northern townships.

Hawker cut-off by flooded roads. Port Pirie, Whyalla, Cooper Pedy and surrounds all flooded rivers, roads and reservoirs/dams.

SES volunteers with drop-master qualifications used SAPOL air wing aircraft to survey.

Adelaide metro region missed when cold front moved further south than predicted.

SES paid staff working on recovery of communities and monitoring eastern & south eastern side of SA on Sunday.

Will be interesting to see how long the rivers take to abate and if townships further down river will be affected or threatened.

Several jobs in the Meningie area. Caused chaos in the main street for a while. God! We almost had the pub under water, can't have that now. Will post some pics later.

If you thought you were having bad day, spare a thought for the people who were sleeping in their cars at Kingston, when a "King Tide" almost buried them, but buried 20 of their vehicles. :-o

Trouble is it was predicted - most people knew it was coming that day/night. The organisers of the fishing comp should have made it more clear.

After talking to one SES crew in the Kingston SE township, every participant was notified before the competition started.

SES received the first tasking at 2:00am Sunday, but was unable to access the beach for people recovery until daylight because of the king tide which was wind blown to make it higher.

Thankfully mobile telephones worked in the area to maintain communications to the affected people.

How about the people in the competition using a bit of common sense?  You would think it would be common sense not to sleep on a beach when there is bad weather around....or at all.

Why was it flooding mengcfs? Was it the result of a flooding river, or blocked drains?

18mm of rain in 15 minutes. Drains weren't blocked, they just couldn't keep up.
I guess the local publican will fill our drink fridge for saving his pokie room. :-D

I took out 72mm here. the 1st 3 hrs was drizzle so that helped. No real flooding here.

Lucky your not in QLD 400mm in 48 hours and Prosperpine Dam has double its capacity going over the spillway :-o
