Current CFS Operations & cameras
« on: December 10, 2007, 03:02:24 PM »
I see there are many more people being organised for strike teams to both Kangaroo Island, and Warooka.

Since there is (generally) a bit of time for people to get themselves prepared & packed for these types of calls, I want to remind people to make sure that they PACK THE CAMERA.

I am keen to get hold of photos from these incidents (and any other recent incidents for that matter) for adding to the Promotions Unit website.

So, if you can take suitable pictures of CFS operations at these incidents - be it on the fire ground, staging areas, IMT's etc, - please email them through to me, for adding to the Promotions Unit website

Photos can be emailed to [email protected]

Thanks to those who have sent me photos today (I hope to get them up on the web in the next few days)

Pip

Deadman zone looks like it will be re written after some new finds that teh CSIRO have done and they are planning a couple of new test fire's in that park north of Keith that I just love in Jan/Feb 2008......

Oh goody . . . . . I was wondering how we'd managed to make it to christmas without a N****** strike team. We'll book one in next month.

There are lots of breaks around the park now and DEH have done loads of burn offs there so we should not get too many long strike teams to the park(i hope)

Well looks can be deceiving :-D

I was talking to the Brentwood captain and he said it wasn't very hot where they were. Their job was too cool down the scrub on the left to prevent it from jumping the road. He said that the fire never crossed the road and they only had a few spots across the road which were put out straight away.
I just say that the photographer was in the right spot at the right time!!
