our pumper has been taken offline... down to get repairs to the pump if they can find the parts...been over the pits apprently sounds like a bearing or something of that nature.
just waiting for them to open it up to hear what the actual problem is...
we have mclaren flat 34 in its place atm. and region 1 24p is at mclaren flat...
we dont see getting pumper back soon or at all if its a big problem with the pump

The logic is that the 34 is dual cab, don't worry about the fact that the 24P is the higher spec truck more suited to seaford's risk's.....hang on who cares, they default 9 out of 10 calls. Why bother with a spare at all.

Don't deny it riptide, you know its true........

PS: There should be a million spare pumps in NSW, thats what they used a while ago.

I was told the original theory beind seaford getting the 34 was locker space...

even though theyre not a road crash resource apparently they need locker room for there rapid intervention gear.

And McLaren Flat 34 is now at Morphett Vale while our 24P is off for some pump work. I believe the 34 that was at McLaren Flat has gone to Stirling and they now have a the spare Region One appliance that was at Goolwa.

Not sure why you have to take a 34, there is a single cab 24P sitting at Angle Park workshops. Even though its a single cab, at least it matched pump wise.

Well hopefully our truck is only away for a couple of weeks, the 34 is actually a bit nicer to drive than our 24P. I feel sorry for McLaren Flat who had their truck taken away, then given a spare which was also taken away for another spare. Nothing like the joy of changing over every piece of gear on a truck a couple of times.

Am trying to figure out how that would work, the old 24P would have loads of more locker space than the Hino 34's.

MMM thats what i was thinking... its all about cruising around in a nice new truck rather than an older, yet more appropriate one..

Anyway, just get the truck back to the flat for when i head over that way

Definitely a lot less locker space, even with only 2 x B.A. sets we still have a heap of gear sitting on the floor of our station because it won't fit on the 34.

They are certainly a rural truck aren't they.

Sellicks is the truck based out of Goolwa, is a bit slow but will eventually wind up to a hundred if you have a few kms of straight road

Tis a long story but the 24P carries 4 BA, our brigade is entitled to 6 sets but for some reason we were told back in 2000 we could only carry 4 so the other 2 sets have been sitting in our BA room, but we have decided to put the other 2 back on as we have had numerous jobs now where 34 has gone first only to have the job change and require BA and we have none on the truck.
